MAC Pink Plaid lipstick

I had another set of MAC items that i had to b2m and so i picked up this little bad boy. Pink Plaid. I have a wide range of crazy colors and thought that i should go for something a bit more calm and subtle and this was perfect for an everyday go to lipstick.

It's a beautiful finish, i love it and it goes great with my skintone. Its not a loud color but not too nude where it goes unnoticed. Its a perfect pop of pink.

DIY 5 minute pedicure

Life is full of last-minute decisions, and putting on those peep-toe pumps is one of them. But sometimes your toes don't look so ready to take center stage and you don't have time to get to the nail salon. That's why I've come up with the perfect way to do a five minute at home pedicure. Here's what you'll need to get your feet looking pedicure perfect while adding just five extra minutes to your daily routine:

Nail clippers
Emery board
Exfoliating scrub
Lotion or foot cream
Cuticle oil or baby oil
A cuticle stick
Nail polish

So this morning you have only five extra minutes to spare, but you want your feet to look like you spent an hour at the nail salon. All you've got to do is take a few extra steps as you get ready. By including some pedicure prep into your shower and the rest of your routine, you'll only need an extra five minutes to look like you had a professional pedicure!

First, apply cuticle oil or baby oil to your cuticles. Do this several minutes before you get in the shower and let it soften those cuticles while you pick out an outfit or brush your teeth. This will properly prep your feet for the DIY pedicure, nourishing cuticles and softening them enough for you to get them into professional-looking shape.

Next, grab your toenail clippers and give yourself a trim. Toenails grow really fast, so you're liable to need one. Soften the edges by quickly filing them with an emery board. As you do it, make sure each toenail has a rounded, even shape.

Now, hop in the shower. Bring a cuticle stick & mdash also called an orange stick &mdash in with you. Take a few seconds to push back the cuticles on each of your toenails. Neat, rounded cuticles are imperative to a professional-looking pedicure!

Soft smooth skin is important too. So while you're in the shower, be sure to use an exfoliating scrub on your feet and calves. Rub the scrub in a circular motion, paying extra attention to any rough spots or calluses you may have. Rinse thoroughly.

After you've toweled off, apply a foot cream or a rich body lotion to your feet and calves. Gorgeous, smooth skin is healthy skin, so moisturizing is essential to your pedicure looking at its best.

If you can plan further in advance, apply a skin cream to your feet the night before. There are even special socks you can wear to bed to really lock in the moisture!

Decide how you'd like to finish off your look. A beautiful pedicure can be simple, just a coat of clear polish might be all you need. The bonus to clear nail polish? When you're in a rush, smudges or smears aren't obvious at all.

For maximum impact, add color. You'll want to apply a clear base coat, two coats of colorful nail polish, and one clear topcoat. This is doable within time constraints if you're well versed in nail polish application &mdash it just takes a little practice. Apply nail polish using wide strokes from the base of the nail to the tip. If you don't have enough time to let the polish dry completely, you can always slip on a pair of flip-flops as you're running out the door. Pack those peep-toe pumps in your purse and put them on when you reach your destination.

Make up don'ts

1. Overplucked Eyebrows

Problem: Too thin, unflattering brows. When you get a clear look at yourself or have been doen up by a friend or professional that your brows are too thin, step away from the mirror, put down the tweezers and start from scratch.

Solution: You need to let your eyebrows grow back in, all of them. This is one of the most difficult beauty dilemmas because it is so tempting to clean up all of the new hairs growing in. But you have to let them all grow in to really see which brow shape will best compliment your face.

2. Too Dark Lip Color

Problem: Dark lip shades (such as colors in brown, black, purple or maroon, think goth) can look aging.

Solution: Avoid lining lips with dark lip liner at all costs, especially if you're not planning to fill them in. If dark lips are a look you're deeply attached to, try a different version of it. Shift to a dark lip gloss if you must, or a sheer version of what you're used to. Another option is to try a sheer lip pencil if you want your look to last, since glosses and sheer lipsticks tend to wear off more quickly. Reapplying more often is a minimal trade off for a more youthful look.

3. Not Blending Well Enough

Problem: You may not be able to see that your foundation ends in a line at your jaw, but everyone else can. Blending is the key to a flawless face. If your blush sits unblended on your cheeks or the little eye shadow you do wear is just plopped on your lid, it's going to look like you're wearing more makeup than you really are.

Solution: Only wear foundation where you need it and only blend past your jawline if your face doesn't match your neck. Other than that, the key is to get the right tools. A few good brushes will make the difference between makeup and blended makeup

4. Mismatched Foundation

Problem: This happens to every woman. Even if you've found the perfect color for your skin, the foundation you buy in August will not work for you in February. Also, watch out for foundation that oxidizes throughout the day and changes color.

Solution: Every woman should have at least two different colors of foundation, but three is better. That way you always have colors to mix to get the right color for your skin year round. Focus on finding a good formula that works with your skin tone and doesn't turn orange (from oxidation) as it interacts with the oils in your skin. (Keep in mind that your face should look like it matches your body. Sheer formulas are better if your face is paler than your chest. Tinted moisturizers are terrific if you don't need much coverage.) The same holds true for concealers. (Tip: Use under-eye concealers that have a subtle light reflective quality and use matte concealers to hide spots.) Also, using a translucent powder when you set your foundation (and for touch-ups during the day) will help combat a shift in color.

5. Makeup Overload

Problem: A full-on eye with a full-on lip with a full-on face of foundation, blush, bronzer and more is only going to make you look older.

Solution: You don't need to focus equal attention on every feature at the same time. Whether you love experimenting with makeup or not, pick one feature and accentuate it. For example, pair a bright lip color like fire engine red or electric pink with a fresh, natural face, not too much foundation, blush or eye makeup. Focusing color on the eyes? Go easy on the mouth with a pale, sheer lip color. It will make the strong eye look modern and more interesting. Anything thick or heavy will look aging.

6. Flakey/Smudgy Mascara

Problem: Women tend to hang on to their makeup for much longer than they should. Flaking is a good sign that your mascara is either not a good formula or needs to be replaced, whether you've finished the tube or not.

Solution: If you find that your mascara runs and smudges under your eyes during the day, try a waterproof formula or one of those "tubing" mascaras. Tip: Waterproof mascara can be difficult to get off so one solution is to use your regular mascara and then just use a layer of a waterproof formula over it, or just use it on the bottom lashes.

7. Too Much Glitter

Problem: The thing that bothers me the most about glitter in makeup is that it travels on your face, leaving strange sparkly spots where they shouldn't be.

Solution: If you have a sparkly personality and must express it through your makeup, a more grown-up option would be to ditch shadows that contain large flecks of in-your-face glitter for those with very, very finely milled luminescence or shimmer.

8. Overbronzing

Problem: Too much bronzer can make your face look dirty or too orange, or too shimmery if you're using a bronzer that isn't matte.

Solution: I do like a bronzer with a little sheen to it, just be careful where you apply it or you'll be guilty of this mistake. There are a few companies that make lovely matte bronzers that look completely realistic. Benefit Hoola, Physicians Formula is almost entirely made up of bronzers. The color of your bronzer, like foundations, should change throughout the year as well. A little bronzer in the winter can add a touch of warmth without making you look too tan.

9. Too Much Illumination

Problem: Luminous particles have been added to everything in the past few years, most notably foundations, powders and highlighting products. One or two such products can make a woman look fresh and glowing. Too many can make her look very, very strange. You run the risk of your face texture not matching that of your body.

Solution: There are a few places where luminizing products work: the cheekbones, the inside corners of the eye, and if the products are subtle enough, under the eye. (Concealers like YSL Touche Eclat, that have a hint of luminescence can really combat dark circles.) Avoid using a luminous foundation with a shimmer powder on your cheekbones and a very shimmery eye shadow. What looks good in magazines doesn't always translate well to real life, so approach with a soft hand.

10. Neglecting Your Skin

Problem: Good makeup starts with a good skin, which is hard to achieve if you're not taking care of your skin. I cannot express the importance of a good skin care regime, echoing many makeup artists who cite poor habits (i.e. smoking and staying up late) and lack of sun protection and moisture as main contributors to bad skin.

Solution: Don't just use any product. See a facialist and do some research to find a good cleanser, moisturizer and targeted treatment products that are suited to your skin type. Also, consult a guide to finding the right skin care for your age. And don't forget to protect your skin daily with a high-SPF sunblock. Don't neglect your neck and chest, they need sunblock and moisturizer too. Your chest gets so much sun during driving and walking time, you may not even realize it.

Tanning!

Sun damage is worse than smoking as far as your skin is concerned and for many of us tanning can be just as addictive as smoking.

The thing is it seems so healthy being out and about in the glorious sunshine. Most of us feel we look better after with a golden tan to banish our pasty pale winter skin.

But make no mistake about it, if you want younger looking skin you have to avoid a deep tan at all costs. A light golden glow is your limit and even better if you get it out of a bottle.

Sun bathing is healthy to a degree, a very small degree. Your body needs about 20 minutes daily unprotected exposure to the sun to make the Vitamin D it needs for optimum health.

More than that and the sun will start to accelerate skin aging and make you look years older than you are.

As far as skin aging is concerned, smoking and tanning are the two worst lifestyle choices you can make and sun damage is the single most aging thing you can do to your skin.

So, how does the sun damage your skin? How long have you got? The list is long and
if you’re a smoker, the effect of all of this will be much worse. And just because you have darker or olive skin don’t think you are safe. A tan of any sort is evidence of injury to the epidermis or the top layer of the skin.

You may think this is exaggerated, especially if you can’t see the damage to your skin yet. Try getting a scan done to show the existing level of UV damage your skin has sustained which you can’t see.

Of course you can still enjoy the great outdoors, even when the sun is at its hottest, as long as you follow the golden rules. They can best be summarized as: protect your skin with sunscreen, cover up and seek shade when sun is at its hottest.

Remember you need both UVB and UVA protection for your skin and you need to buy the best you can afford for maximum anti aging protection. Skinceuticals Ultimate UV Defense is one of the best anti aging sunscreens around currently from a quality dermatologist level skin care brand.

So do yourself a real favor, follow the three golden rules and protect your skin from aging for as long as possible!

Facial Masks for Glowing Skin

Now that summer is coming, you might notice that all that fun you had outside in the sun and in the water has left your complexion dull and lifeless. Exposure to UV rays, salt water and chlorine can dry out your skin, producing rough, flaky patches and can aggravate rashes like eczema. Sunburns can peel off unevenly, leaving blotchy areas of lighter and darker skin. All of this wear and tear makes dead skin cells clump together instead of being washed off evenly. The result is dull, tired skin. Luckily, you can banish the end of summer beauty blues and bring back your skin’s natural glow with a facial mask.

For dry skin, try Sephora brand Power Mask Hydrogel Face Mask. This is a single use mask that you place over your skin in two pieces. It contains hyaluronic acid for intense hydration, and is perfect for an at home treatment before a big event. (Just make sure you warn your roommate or boyfriend ahead of time, since you’ll look like an extra in a horror flick.)

If you have oily skin and large pores, I suggest the Biore Self-Heating Mask. It has kaolin clay to absorb oil and shine, and rinses off dead skin leaving your face clean, soft, and hydrated with no greasy residue.

For sensitive skin, try Alba Hawaiian Papaya Enzyme Facial Mask. It contains natural enzymes to loosen dead skin without irritation, as well as aloe and panthenol (a B vitamin) to soothe inflamed skin (like from a recent sunburn)

Fake an instant glow by lightly dusting a shimmer powder on the apples of your cheeks and temples. Don’t use too much, or you’ll end up looking shiny. Try Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips.

A bit of everything haul!!

Went to the mall yesterday, i had a few things in mind on what i should get and the rest are just destiny :)
This blush i got from The Body Shop, its a very pretty pink, the blush is inside the cap on the right and there is a sponge on the left and you apply that to your cheek or if you would like, take your brush that you use to apply blush with and dip that into the blush inside the cap.

I had to b2m my empties and i got this little bad boy. Looks gorgeous!! This is snob, i thought snob was very similar to Saint Germain which i have, but when swatching them, they were completely different.

I love it!! Its a more wearable version of Saint Germain maybe?

I was looking high and low for something for my brows. Powders, pencils, everything. I went to Sephora and tried the Anastasia of Beverly Hills line that specializes in brows, horrible!! My brows are good they are just a tad bit too light for what i want them to be, so i fill them in very lightly with a black eyeliner. They look very natural and brown. Some browns tend to look red or orange especially in pictures and i DID NOT want that and that is all Anastasia had to offer! Big disappointment. Every powder or pencil looked very fake, unnatural or red/orange. Then i tried the MUFE eyebrow corrector, OMG. That stuff looks like you have sharpie on your brows. But i knew i would find something from MAC so i didnt get anything for my brows at Sephora. Then i went to MAC and found this black impeccable eyebrow pencil. Its specifically made for brows and if you would want it as an eyeliner it would be difficult to use since its made sheer for filling in brows. It was perfect!! The lady tried the same pencil on me but in taupe, i was afraid it might look reddish in pics but she said there is no red in it for it to show up on pics, but still i felt safer with the black. I tried it at the store and it was just what i wanted!

This is the rest of my Body Shop haul. 2 shadows and a blush and a bronzer. I dont usually go to The Body Shop, i might pop in every once in a while to see what they have . Well it turns out i checked it out yesterday and to my surprise they were ahev an amazing sale! The shadows are usually $12, the ones i got on the right. They were marked down to a $1 each!! The blushes and bronzers such as the ones on the left were $17.50 and i got them for $5 a piece. The pink blush i showed you in a separate pic was originally $14 and i got it for $8. Heres the thing, they have this thing where its 3 for $10. So i got the 2 blushes and the bronzer for $10! The computer automatically changes it, even if its $5 or $4 or $8 except the $1 items since that wouldnt be fair. The sale has been going on for a few days so you guys go check it out if you can. They also had a bunch of bath items and lotions for sale as well. I checked their website and there is a similar sale there too. Some items are already sold out.

Very pretty pigmented but soft color, i love it! Its kinda a chamagne/beige color. Beautiful if you are in a rush and just put this in your crease, very soft but noticable, it looks amazing!

Beautiful olive color.

This is the bronzer.

This is teh highlighter side. You can also use each shade as an eyeshadow as well!

This is the blush, very nice and peachy, reminds me of MAC's ripe peach kinda. The different shades can also be used as shadows.

This is the famous Buxom lash liner from Sephora. I got this in black which is leatherette. Its a black gel liner that makes your lashes grow at the same time. I already have the MAC's blacktrack fluidline but since this makes lashes grow, i was all for it. It was only $15. I hope it really works, i read some awesome reviews on this!

I also stopped by forever21, nothing really caught my eye, except these gorgeous earrings! I love hoops and i love the "diamonds" in them even more and i just had to have them.

I wanted to try out the philosophy purity face wash. I bought teh small one to see how i like it and if i do, ill go get the bigger bottle since it is a better deal kinda.

I also got this from LUSH. I totally expected it to be a conditioner but when i got home i found out it was a shampoo. I wanted teh Veganese conditioner but they were out so i looked around it and found this one and assumed it was a conditioner. Oh well. Ill see if i like it so that i could get a bigger bottle of this as well.

And this i knew it was a shampoo. Its also from LUSH, their solid shampoo. I have no idea what name it is, i think its squeaky something. It really gets the dirt and oil out of your hair since my hair tends to get oilier faster in the summer. It also lathers up really well. I tried it last night, but i used it along with the shampoo i thought was the conditioner. So ill update when i use that alone with some kind of conitoner.

Bad skin habits that cause pimples!

Clear, healthy, blemish-free skin is a dream for many and though you can’t do anything about your hormones, 2 main causes of acne, you can change your daily routine to improve your skin’s appearance. Break your skin care bad habits to prevent acne and enjoy the healthy glow of clear skin.

Acne, the term for what's commonly called pimples or zits, occurs when oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells clog hair follicles. People with oily skin may be more susceptible to pimples because of their acne prone skin, but breaking bad habits can still help them and everyone else to prevent acne.

Break These Acne-Causing Habits

Here are the top bad habits that can take a toll on your acne prone skin, resulting in pimples and blemishes:

Bad Habit No. 1: Washing your skin too often

Though it's important to keep your skin clean, washing it too often will only make acne worse. Instead, wash your face in the morning when you wake and at night before bed.

Bad Habit No. 2: Vigorously scrubbing your skin

Scrubbing your skin with a washcloth, loofah, or harsh exfoliant will cause significant irritation — and may worsen your acne-prone skin. To prevent acne, always wash with only lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser.

Bad Habit No. 3: Not cleaning sweaty skin

After you've had a tough workout or been outside in the hot sun, your skin may be covered with sweat. Don't let it dry on your skin, always bathe or wash your skin right after sweating.

Bad Habit No. 4: Picking at your skin and popping your pimples

While it may be irresistible to pick or pop pimples, these behaviors can cause increased redness from squeezing the pus deeper into the skin and sometimes even scarring. Instead, keep your hands off your face and let pimples go back down to size with the help of an anti-acne lotion or cream.

Bad Habit No. 5: Skipping the shampoo

If you've got oily hair, that oil can seep down onto your face and cause pimples. Make sure you wash your hair each day to keep excess oil off of your forehead, face, and back to help prevent acne.

Bad Habit No. 6: Getting hair products on your face

It's important to keep hair spray, gel, mousse, or other hair products off your face to prevent them from clogging up your pores. Cover your face when applying these products to keep them on your hair and off your skin.

Bad Habit No. 7: Eating greasy foods

While the food that you eat doesn't cause acne, greasy foods can make acne prone skin worse because of the excess oil and grease that can get on the skin from the food itself. So stick to a healthy diet without greasy, fried foods to spare your skin and your health.

Bad Habit No. 8: Using cosmetics that contain oil

If you've got acne-prone skin, the last thing you want to do is introduce even more oil. When you buy makeup and other skin products, look for oil-free options labeled with the terms "non-acnegenic" or "non-comedogenic" to help prevent acne.

Bad Habit No. 9: Stopping your acne treatment

If you're using prescription acne medications for your pimples, it's great news when your skin starts to clear up. But that doesn't mean you're free to stop using your medication. To keep a recurrent breakout at bay, finish all of your prescription acne medications as recommended by your doctor unless directed otherwise.

Replace your bad skin care habits and practices with good ones to help bring acne under control. With a few simple changes, your skin not your pimples will be glowing.

8 Toxic Personalities to Avoid

Although we like to think that the people in our lives are well adjusted, happy, healthy minded individuals, we sometimes realize that it just isn't so. Personally, I've had moments where I'll be skipping through my day, happy as i can be, thinking life is awesome and all of a sudden, I'll be blindsided by someone who manages to just mess up my day. Sometimes it is easy to write it off and other times, not so much.

Maybe you are a positive person, but when you are around a certain individual, you feel negative. Or, maybe you have an idealistic view of the world and when you are with certain people, you are made to feel silly, unrealistic or delusional. Or, maybe you pride yourself in being completely independent and in control of your life, but when you are around a certain family member, you go into a state of childhood.

Some of these situations, and yes, these people, can have a tremendously negative impact on our lives. And, although we are all human and have our issues some issues are quite toxic. They are toxic to our happiness. They are toxic to our mental outlook. They are toxic to our self-esteem. And they are toxic to our lives. They can suck the life out of us and even shorten our lifespan.

Here are the worst of the toxic personalities out there and how to spot them:

1. Manipulative Mary: These individuals are experts at manipulation. As a matter of fact, you may not even realize you have been manipulated until it is too late. These individuals figure out what your 'buttons' are, and push them to get what they want.

Why they are toxic: These people have a way of eating away at your belief system and self-esteem. They find ways to make you do things that you don't necessarily want to do and before you know it, you lose your sense of identity, your personal priorities and your ability to see the reality of the situation. The world all of a sudden becomes centered around their needs and their priorities.

2. Narcissistic Nancy: These people have an extreme sense of self-importance and believe that the world revolves around them. They are often not as sly as the Manipulative Marys of the world, but instead, tend to be a bit overt about getting their needs met. You often want to say to them "It isn't always about you."

•Why they are toxic: They are solely focused on their needs, leaving your needs in the dust. You are left disappointed and unfulfilled. Further, they zap your energy by getting you to focus so much on them, that you have nothing left for yourself.

3. Debbie Downers: These people can't appreciate the positive in life. If you tell them that it is a beautiful day, they will tell you about the impending dreary forecast. If you tell them you aced a mid-term, they'll tell you about how difficult the final is going to be.

•Why they are toxic: They take the joy out of everything. Your rosy outlook on life continues to get squashed with negativity. Before you know it, their negativity consumes you and you start looking at things with gray colored glasses yourself.

4. Judgmental Jims: When you see things as cute and quirky, they see things as strange and unattractive. If you find people's unique perspectives refreshing, they find them 'wrong'. If you like someone's eclectic taste, they find it 'disturbing' or 'bad'.

•Why they are toxic: Judgmental people are much like Debbie Downers. In a world where freedom rings, judgment is sooo over. If the world was a homogeneous place, life would be pretty boring. Spending a lot of time with these types can inadvertently convert you into a judgmental person as well.

5. Dream Killing Keiths: Every time you have an idea, these people tell you why you can't do it. As you achieve, they try to pull you down. As you dream, they are the first to tell you it is impossible.

•Why they are toxic: These people are stuck in what is instead of what could be. Further, these individuals eat away at your self-esteem and your belief in yourself. Progress and change can only occur from doing new things and innovating, dreaming the impossible and reaching for the stars.

6. Insincere Illissas: You never quite feel that these people are being sincere. You tell a funny story, they give you a polite laugh. You feel depressed and sad and they give you a 'there, there' type response. You tell them you are excited about something and you get a very ho-hum response.

•Why they are toxic: People who aren't sincere or genuine build relationships on superficial criteria. This breeds shallow, meaningless relationships. When you are really in need of a friend, they won't be there. When you really need constructive criticism, they would rather tell you that you are great the way you are. When you need support, they would rather see you fail or make a fool of yourself.

7. Disrespectful Dannys: These people will say or do things at the most inappropriate times and in the most inappropriate ways. In essence, they are more subtle, grown up bullies. Maybe this person is a friend who you confided in and uses your secret against you. Maybe it is a family member who puts their busy-body nose into your affairs when it is none of their business. Or maybe, it is a colleague who says demeaning things to you.

•Why they are toxic: These people have no sense of boundaries and don't respect your feelings or, for that matter, your privacy. These people will cause you to feel frustrated and disrespected.

8. Never Enough Nellies: You can never give enough to these people to make them happy. They take you for granted and have unrealistic expectations of you. They find ways to continually fault you and never take responsibility for anything themselves.

•Why they are toxic: You will spend so much time trying to please them, that you will end up losing yourself in the process. They will require all of your time and energy, leaving you worn out and your own needs sacrificed.

All of these personalities have several things in common. 1) the more these people get away with their behavior, the more they will continue. 2) Unfortunately, most of these people don't see that what they do is wrong and as a result, talking to them about it will fall on deaf ears, leaving you wondering if you are the crazy one. 3) Most of these people get worse with age, making their impact on you stronger with time.

Life is just too short to spend your time dealing with toxicity. If you can, avoid spending much time with people who are indicative of these behaviors and you'll feel a lot happier.

Boost your self esteem!

Almost everyone experiences low self-esteem at some point in life. But for some, especially those suffering with depression, chronic low self-esteem can be a symptom that spirals out of control, keeping you from enjoying life and accomplishing the things you want to do.

Low Self-Esteem: How Does It Happen?

A person can create his own low self-esteem cycle, or events that occur can bring it on. This happens when you judge yourself harshly, telling yourself that you are worthless. Also dealing with a stressful situation such as a disability or a loss of a job can make it hard to feel good about yourself. How others treat you, as well as how you get along with others, can also affect your self-esteem
It may not always be possible to control your inner thoughts. And you often have no control over the events that unfold in your life. But if you suffer from low self-esteem, there are things you can do to boost your self-image.

Low Self-Esteem: How to Fight It

Often, traditional treatments for depression, such as medication and psychotherapy, can help. Getting into a therapy or support group is the first thing people who are depressed should do to boost their self-esteem.

Besides following your doctor’s recommendations, here are other steps to consider that may improve low self-esteem:

Get some exercise!

Many recommend exercise for people who are dealing with low self-esteem as a symptom of depression. Making exercise a part of your regular routine can help you feel better emotionally and physically.

Eat a healthful diet!

Avoiding foods high in sugar, fat, or salt, and eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and low-fat dairy products is an important part of taking good care of yourself. The healthier you feel, the better you will feel about yourself.

Make the time to participate in activities you enjoy!

Make time each day to do something you really like, such as listening to music, playing a musical instrument, or working on a craft project. Enjoyable activities can make you feel better, thereby improving your low self-esteem.

Be productive!

Completing everyday tasks like cleaning your kitchen, organizing your junk drawer, getting your laundry done, or paying your bills on time will give you a sense of accomplishment.

Stay connected socially!

Even though it can sometimes be difficult just to get out of bed when you are depressed, it can help to spend time with people who are good to you and who can make you feel good about yourself.

Practice good self-care!

Shower regularly, brush your teeth, dress in nice clothes, keep your hair trimmed, and do other things that make you more confident about your physical appearance. Feeling better about how you look on the outside will leave you feeling better inside. Depression can make it hard to find the energy and motivation to take care of yourself. But taking time to focus on you can improve your self-esteem and make you feel better all around

N.Y.C nailpolish in 108A Polyester Pink Creme

Bought this at Target for like $0.94 ! Gorgeous Barbie pink polish for summer/spring. Its more pink in real life. Perfect for a nice bronzy summery skintone.

Sorry for the not so perfect paint job, was watching a movie while doing these lol :)

MAC Haul!!!

Went to watch Get him to the greek yesterday which was right next to the mall so i decided to go to MAC real quick since i have been wanting a few things. Enjoy! And no i didnt get anything from the To the beach collection, i really dont think its all that.

The lipstick without the box was a b2m :)

Im proud to say that this is my first MAC brush!! As you saw everything else i have is Sigma which are my good brushes, Sonia Kashuk and a couple of others from either Target, Coastal Scents or unknown but work good lol. Anyways, this is the MAC 217, almost everyones favorite. I have been wanting this for a REALLY long time and finally decided to get it, after much research i felt that it was time. I have not used it yet but im very excited to :) Its one of their cheaper brushes too, it was $22.50.

This is my B2m lipstick in pink nouveau, i have also been wanting this gorgeous barbie pink for sometime now.

And this is the LE lipstick metal maven from the starflash collection. They had some in stock and im happy i got my hands on it. I have a lipgloss this same color but a bit more pigmented and im running low and i have no idea what the name of the gloss was so i saw this lipstick and was similar so i had to have it.

Finally got the MAC brush cleanser. I wanted the Sephora one but it was $6 for 2 oz. and $14 for like 4 or 5 oz. That seems stupid since all it does is clean whereas this MAC one is 7.9 oz. for $11 and it cleans, conditions, and has all these good things for your brushes so it was a no brainer, had to pick this one.

I read a lot abouit this cleanser and seen videos that people say that if you pour straight from the MAC bottle on to the napkin you will use a lot of product and go through the bottle faster, so its better to put it in a spray bottle where you use less product and have the bottle for longer and it still gets the same job done :)

Had to get my wipes, these are a staple product. I get the 45 pack because i feel like the 100 pack might get dry by the time i get to the last few wipes. And its summer and i dont like wearing foundation everyday, which means it will take even longer for them to finish and plus i only use these when im really lazy and dont feel like going to the sink.

I also picked up this prep + prime skin base which is basically a primer. I wanted to give it a go and see how it works. Will probably do an update later telling you if you should buy it or pass it.

May Faves

Sorry for the late faves, but i have just been out and enjoying the weather and all the good things summer has to offer :) I dont have many things because i dont like to use a lot during summer, its too hot and summer is kinda like a "natural" season i guess, where folks just like to keep it simple.
Here is a stila e/s i have been ALL over, its such a perfect summer bronze color, i just use this as my lid color and its a perfect touch of bronziness on my eyes. I have no idea what the name is because i got it in a swap and i sanitize all my products inside and out. So i was rubbing it with alcohol and all of the black writing on the bottom faded away. First i thought it was just dirty until i noticed it all fade away :(

Next up is my blonde MSF, perfect touch of shimmerness for the summer, gives a nice glow. I use it as my highlighter and apply it on top of my cheek bones, and sumtimes i just use it all over my face :)

This is the new popular limited edition Revlon gloss called lilac pastelle. It looks amazing and its such a rare lipgloss color i think, cuz i havent seen any that look like this. This is also very very similar to MAC's lavener whip lipstick. Its like the same lipstick in a lip gloss. So if you're into this color or lavender whip, you should check this out. Got it at Target for $5.69.

And last is the famous NARS sheer glow. Sucks that it doesnt have a pump ( boo!) I got this in the shade ceylan but its too light for me in the summer since im 72 shades darker. It honestly isn't a MAGICAL foundation that everyone claimes it to be. Its a normal foundation with decent coverage. Since its too light i like to apply bronzer over it and it makes it look great :) Oh yea and thats a tip for someone that has a foundation too light for their summer skin. Apply bronzer over it and voila! You will be surprised how many people dont think of this tip, yet its so simple.

Here is the foundation blended in. Looks good but it definitely isnt dark enough for my face.
The rest of my faves are self explanitory. Been using my fix+ everytime after i apply my foundation. I hate spraying things on my face so i always use my sigma ss150 for this. I spray my fix+ on to the brush and stiple all over my face and lightly blend the into my skin. It sets my make up, helps it last longer, refreshes my face, gets rid of cakiness and makes my face look natural. And the perfume i been in love with recently! I originally wanted Jessica Simpson's Fancy perfume, but this one is Fancy Love and omg i love it!! I have never smelled sumthing like it before, its very unique yet very gentle. Smells like baby powder in a way, its soft but not too soft, it just smells amazing to me, i love it! Yay another wishlist item :)
